Dog Trainer
Max found his beginnings in 2010 with his first dog, Roscoe. With this dog, Max found obedience, protection, tracking, and specific odor detection, and spent many years trying to sharpen skills in each discipline. He jumped at the opportunity when he heard about dog training school to take his training abilities to the next level.
In January 2016, Max spent 9 months a vocational dog training school in the Midwest, where he received instruction on many different aspects of training dogs, including training and client interaction, pet obedience, competition obedience, dog and human aggression management, competition and Search and Rescue tracking, specific odor detection, protection. Before leaving the Midwest, he earned his first entry level sport title, PSA PDC, with his dog Booker.
Upon graduation in 2017, Max returned to the Salt Lake area to help people with their own animals, including pets, sport dogs, and police K9’s. He is passionate that everyone receives the best, most current instruction to promote clear communication, reduce conflicts, and enjoy better qualities of life. He is also passionate about continued learning, and is dedicated keeping up to date on general industry standards and best practices.
On his own time, Max has continued to pursue the sport of PSA with a group of dedicated and talented trainers and handlers. After a few tries, he landed on the U-Tang PSA club, which meets frequently to train for PSA in a healthy but extremely competitive environment. Max has also been the Assistant Director of the West Coast Region of PSA since the 2019 and a competitor since 2017, showing at 3 national events. He is still trying for his PSA3 with K9’s Booker, Batman, and Kaya.

Booker is an all black German Shepherd raised for competition. Max and Booker completed two legs of the PSA2 routine in the 2018 season, earning the PSA2 title. He is one of a few German Shepherds to ever earn this title. In 2019, they travelled to New Jersey to compete at the national event and earned 1st place in the PSA2. Booker is now training for the PSA3’s, and will be competing in this class in the upcoming trial season.

Kaya is a strong female with extreme prey drive. She is 6 years old and is titled to PSA2.
Batman
PSA2
Batman is an enthusiastic Dutch Shepherd that loves to fly and bite. He is deceptively powerful because of his small size. After years of training, Batman has earned High in trial and Decoy’s Choice twice, as well as a PSA2 title. Max and Batman will be showing for the PSA3 in 2023 and beyond.
